McBlundered

You know how sometimes people say that "some people deserve their jobs"?? Well, today was a great example... =.="

Went to McDonald's Drive Thru to get some lunch on my way home for lunch today. I ordered specifically: McNuggets Value Meal with Sprite (no ice); Sweet & Sour Sauce; Tomato ketchup... It took a while for the lady taking the order to key in the specific changes I'd made... I suppose not many people ask for ketchup instead of chilli sauce from her surprised tone, but she made the changes and requested that I checked the order before proceeding to the payment counter.

After paying, I drove on to the collection counter where an unfriendly staff handed me my order and promptly shut the window, muttering under her breath... Erm... thank you and please come again???

First thing I'd noticed is that the Sprite had ice in it... Strike 1... But I thought, no point being a diva about it and just placed it into the car...

Then I noticed, no sweet & sour sauce for my chicken nuggets... Strike 2... I'd noticed that she dutifully added some sauce packets after referring to the order chart on the monitor, so I thought, it's okay... I'll have ketchup with the nuggets today...

Drove home and took out the food... There were 4 packets of sauce... First one - chilli sauce, second one - chilli sauce, third one - chilli sauce... I'm beginning to see a trend here... *sweat* And yes, you've guessed it, fourth packet - chilli sauce... STRIKE 3~!!!

So, I have learned that...
  1. That girl needs to learn to read.

  2. McDonalds is indeed a charitable organization...

Value Life; Don't Be A Moron~!!

Sigh, sometimes I wonder whether people actually value life or not... Cos they forget their brains and behave like morons...

Yesterday, as I was about to drive onto the main road from my office, a moron of a lady decided to cross the road - right in my path~!!! I figured she had some smarts as she was (initially) waiting for me to enter the road first then cross behind me. (At least the other lady was smart enough to cross behind me...) Anyway, she not only decided to cross the main road, but to walk in a diagonal path in a way that had I not noticed her, I would have most definitely mowed her down like the weeds that is probably overgrowing the brains in her head... =S

It's one thing to not value your own life, but what about your loved ones ar?? Just this morning I witnessed two incidents of morons who put their child's life at risk. The first one was the car behind me at the traffic light - the father at the wheel, the mother slumped over taking her morning snooze in the front passenger's seat and their child in between them, wheeling the toy car against the dashboard~!!! To make things worse, even after the light turned green and the car started moving, neither one restrained the kid... Irresponsible parents, indeed~!!

The second incident is also just as irresponsible, as I watched helplessly at the kid dancing about, entertaining himself and waving at me and the cars behind me from the back seat of the van in front of me... Whatever happened to "fasten your seatbelt for safety"??!!! If you wanna put your child's life at risk, you may as well not have children in the first place... Like I said... moron...

And finally, if you don't value your own or your loved ones' lives, then at least be considerate of mine... Don't just stop your car for nothing in front of me like your grandfather owned the road lar... *pffttt*

Tiger Barbs In A Tank

Have you seen a tiger barb before?? It looks like this:

In a school, it looks something like this:

Tiger barbs are really pretty to look at and are very active, so Mom got a few and put them together in a tank. Little did we know that soon enough, there was a casualty, followed by another. We noticed that the group of fish singled out one fish amongst them and then gang up against it. Soon enough, it would become too weak to defend itself and succumb to an untimely death...

Maybe I'm just being melancholic - but at times, it seems like the office politics tend to operate the same way as tiger barbs in a tank. We may be led to feel like part of the team, but then before we know it, we have become singled out as the black sheep; the odd one out. Just like the tiger barbs, it is not distinctive who the leader of the pack is. But, there is certainty of the attack upon the "victim" like a pack of wolves descending to devour their singled-out prey.

Beyond that, let us be encouraged that there is still a Higher Call, a Higher Purpose... A silver lining in the bleakest of dark clouds. And, be thankful for the occasional sunshine and rainbow that comes along in life.

O Lord my God, I take refuge in you;
save me and deliver me from all who pursue me,
or they will tear me like a lion and rip me to pieces with no one to rescue me...
~ Psalm 7:1-2 ~

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
He delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit...

The Lord redeems His servants;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in Him.
~ Psalm 34: 17-18, 22 ~

Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in Him and He will do this:
He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret -- it leads only to evil.
For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
A little while, and the wicked will be no more;
though you look for them, they will not be found.
But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.
~ Psalm 37:5-11 ~

I will be encouraged that there is hope and remember to recount the rainbows and butterflies along the way... =)

Exam again?? =.=

To re-sit or not to re-sit...

As some might know, I took an exam last December... Generally, one has to pass the exam in order to be eligible for promotion. And, as a bonus if you do well for the exam, there is a small increment in store... Don't ask me why being eligible for promotion is based on "what you know" instead "work performance"... It's just the way it is... =.=

So well, yesterday I heard that the results are (Finally! Exam in December okay...) out. Today when I finally remembered and found the time to check, I found out that I only passed (Level 3) and didn't get enough (Level 4) to get that increment... Sigh... As it is, it's uncertain whether will even be considered for promotion in the near future - competition, etc... The only thing I will have a chance at is to get the small increment (seriously, it's not much but still better than nothing...) and now this... Haihz~!!

Hopefully, there'll be another chance to take the exam again this December... But really, the question is whether or not it is worth having to study all over again... >.<

Do I really want to go through all this again?? :

Stranded Aboard AMBP Flight

Dear all,

I apologize for the lack of updates in this humble blog. The last thing I remember is boarding the AMBP flight to Bloggersville, after a satisfying treat at McD... It is possible that the one-man-show has contributed to my being stranded aboard the flight. I cannot blame the one man in charge for being inefficient - it's not easy for one person to juggle the tasks of pilot-ing the flight, serving in-flight refreshments, making announcements, cleaning toilets, etc.

One of the things to keep ourselves entertained and sane aboard this seemingly neverending flight was to coin up captions for pictures we found lying around... Who knows where those pictures came from, but well... beggars can't be choosers, who cares whose they are - it's something to do before we pull our hair out from the lack of entertainment... (Sure, there's in-flight entertainment... but there's only so many times you can endure re-runs~!!)

Him : "Blue... the colour of the sky~!!"

Her : "Yes, the sky is blue... There are different shades of blue... Did you know, sometimes the sky becomes dark gray too??"

Me (*rolls eyes*) : Enough about skies... it's all I see outside the window... Get me off this flight~!!! >.<

It is comforting to know that we have (finally~!!!) arrived at Bloggersville... I'm going off to look at something apart from skies, get over the crazy jetlag and watch some new movies... =)

Tata for now...

Glad to be back,
Me...
